ABBY LUMBY

I am very interested in working alongside members at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as I believe it is a great opportunity for me to resent my work in an environment where my themes and concepts are relevant. My work mostly centres around mental health and I am working in different techniques to best represent it and raise awareness of it. Having my work displayed in a hospital will mean that people would are possibly suffering themselves will have access to it, but also family members and others who might not know much about mental health. Also, I am hoping that communicating with staff members will help me to understand what patients are wanting to see and experience around the hospital to make their experience there a better one. This opportunity will also help me in the future as I am hoping to become an art therapist and working in the hospital will give me the experience of working in those types of environments.
