Hospitals aren't the nicest place in the world, yes they are there for good reason, but for many (including myself) they are feared. From my knowledge, hospitals have stereotypically dull corridors and a very mixed atmosphere, the potential to use these free spaces and brighten up a place where good work is done every day is a great chance to experiment with how we as artists can develop illustrations, photography, sculpture and many more creative techniques at our disposal professionally. I know that in Halifax the hospital use curtains with prints/illustrations of local places around the area, I believe this can be pushed further into something bigger, perhaps a mural down a wall or even something on the ceilings looping round from wall to wall. This is a new concept for myself as working big is something a rarely do, but non the less it is great change to move ideas forward with a new perspective.
