MARGUERITA BAILEY

I am currently studying Contemporary Art and Illustration in my second year at Huddersfield University. My keen interest in nature governs my practice as does my lifelong passion for education, teaching children of all abilities.

My work for the hospital project will include the use of varied techniques to portray the natural environment, mainly water, both natural and man installed. Trees are also a constant feature of my work together with literature and my own poetry.  Music too features largely in my work. I hope to include all of these natural elements in my project work and provide a thought-provoking yet soothing element in the hospital environment.

My practice at the present incorporates photographs, printing, woodwork, collage and painting in acrylics, watercolours and oils. I work with every possible medium and enjoy new ventures. My work is illustrative and suitable for people of all ages; however, my main interest is in art for children. It is in this area that I hope to work within the hospital to provide a stimulus for the young patients within the hospital.
