WORKSHOPS WITH THE NURSERY

March 7, 2019

We organised a couple of workshops with the nursery which is located on the hospital site. The children were encouraged to get creative and let out their inner artists, in other words, have fun and get messy with the paint. These workshops allowed us to split into groups and come up with fun and artistic activities for the children to become involved in.

Group one decided to use acetate for the children to paint on, allowing for a translucent work surface. These were then used to create an installation within the hospital, one which was hung in front of the window allowing light to shine through it

FIRST WORKSHOP

Group one decided to use different coloured acetate sheets for the children to paint on, allowing for a translucent work surface. As well as the paint, the children were encouraged to use glitter and other materials. These were then used to create an installation within the hospital, one which was hung in front of the window allowing light to shine through it. There was a playfulness that resonated within the messy application and it was clear that the children had enjoyed the creative process.

Not only were the acetate sheets created, the group took along a sheet of fabric to make a large painted-tapestry. This was an opportunity for the children to paint with their hands and work together to create a large piece rather than working individually.
